Hyderabad: In his first initiative in Telangana, the Ministry of Agriculture has initiated the ‘survey of monkeys’ in villages throughout the state to identify the monkey movement hotspots and the number of monkeys.
Surveys are being carried out because monkey problems have been identified as the main obstacle to cutting the conversion from rice to peanuts.
According to officials, Telangana, such as Himachal Pradesh, dealing with this problem and the northern state uses sterilization techniques to limit monkeys.
Agricultural officers around the country are asked to submit monkey details in the format of five specific web questions and provisions provided in the Department’s harvest order order system with the ‘Monkey Menace Survey’ name.
Questionnaires include how many monkeys in the village, whether they are engaged in groups, how much damage to plants that occur due to monkey problems, where they live (old buildings, roadside, forest areas, or elsewhere), and what tools are villages Use to fight threats, such as monkey weapons and solar fences.
Field officers also have to record whether there are tourist attractions nearby.
According to a report, each officer is responsible for entering the harvest order and other details from every 10,000 hectares and the same officer is responsible for the Monkey Menace survey.
The survey will reveal their number of monkeys and hotspots, and sterilization operations can begin later.
The Department of Animal Husbandry has a theater facility in the Nirmal District where one monkey is sterilized some time ago “We can begin a similar process in all state districts,” said Dr.
Ramchander, said the livestock director said.
Many farmers in the state have notified officials that monkeys damage their plants, especially lack of land and that they want to be released from the threat.
