Hyderabad: Miryalaguda police have solved two gangs between countries involved in the sale of stolen car fraud and recover 20 vehicles worth 6 crores from their ownership.
After stealing a car from Delhi and its surroundings, the machine number and chassis were removed in West Bengal, before sending them to another country.
On February 8, a gasoline pump worker, Veeraswamy, filed a complaint to the police Miryalaguda who stated that he had bought two cars, a Fortuner and Creta, with a registration number of West Bengal from Siri Nayak, a gas station worker and his colleague Chary for around 20 lakh When the duo promised to give him the NOC of the owner.
When the duo did not give him NOC, Veeraswamy filed a complaint of the police and, during the investigation, the police found that the engine and the number of chassis from the two cars was damaged.
By contacting the car showroom, the police identified the engine and the chassis number to find out that the two vehicles were stolen between October and November 2021 in Delhi.
The police arrested the duo and, based on their confession, recovering five stolen cars more than S Narsimha Reddy, 55, a car salesman of Toopran.
The accusation told the police that they bought cars from West Bengal Bengal.
“The defendant paid 8-10 lakh for Fortuner, 4-6 lakh for Innova and 2-4 lakh for Creta.
The same was sold in Telangana for 18-20 lakh, 10-12 lakh and 4-7 lakh each,” said Police Supervisor Nalgonda (SP) King Rajeswari.
Based on the lead obtained from the defendant, the police arrested another gang who also obtained a stolen vehicle from Bappa Ghosh.
Members of the second gang, MD Shakyakeel, MD Shafiullah Khan from Manteral and Valayat Ali Khan from Musheerabad, arrested and 13 cars recovered from their ownership.
“Of the 13 vehicles, the defendant managed to get a Telangana registration number for eight vehicles in collusion with RTA Manserial officials,” police said.
Of the 20 car restored, 16 stolen from Delhi and Gurgaon.
Ownership of the remaining vehicles has not been confirmed.
