Hyderabad: Lack of clarity in the procedure and in several sheets of sheet notification about the jurisdiction of the Krishna (KRMB) River Management Board (KRMB) and the GODAVARI (GRMB) Management Council (GRMB) is useful for the Telangana government to take the time of irrigation itself in submitting irrigation projects to the board.
Although the notification of Gazettes on KRMB and GRMB emerged from October 14, the state government had formed a committee to study the protocol and steps before handing it to the board.
With delays in taking over the project, both KRMB and GRMB Chairperson will likely send reports to the center that explains the situation on Monday, the official source said.
Officials in CMO said there was no rush for the government to issue GOS or immediately gave the project to the board because the transition period to submit the project was three months, which was recorded at the KRMB meeting.
However, officials said according to guarantee, the government will submit a project by taking some time.
“A committee has been killed by Irrigation Engineer C Muralidhar to see the problem and suggest to the government about how to do it.
The government wants to submit six outlets, including Srisailam, Kalwakurthy, SLBC and Nagarjuna Sagar Dam to KRMB,” said Senior CMO official to Ti.
However, the government clarified that it did not agree to submit home-house houses in Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar to the council.
Irrigation department officials said that KRMB could not take over projects unless the state government gave them officially.
“The word ‘taking over’ the project is not in Gazette’s notification, it ‘handed’.
Therefore the Telangana government must submit it to KRMB,” said Head of Secretary Special Rajat Kumar to Tii.
Officials also show that even as long as they submit, the state government has been asked to pass irrigation officials to maintain and operate projects.
“Do officials will be temporary based or permanent transfer to the center, which will pay the salaries of the engineers represented? Some projects are taken by floating companies and take big loans, who will pay for this loan? All of these problems need clarity,” said senior officials Department of irrigation.
CM K Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to hold a meeting with officials on this problem on Monday to take a stock of the situation, especially after the KRMB meeting and its implications in the country.
