New Delhi: The Union Minister of Anurag Thakur took over information and broadcast broadcasting on Thursday.
He joined his deputy, L Murugan, who also assumed the office.
Speaking to reporters after he took over, Thakur’s Anurag was grateful to Prime Minister Modi for the responsibilities given and said he would make his best effort to continue the government’s efforts to serve the people.
“Modiji has brought the nation ahead.
I will try to fulfill the belief he has shown in me.
Some of the big names have been responsible for this previous ministry and I will make every effort to ensure government work moves forward and benefits people on Generally, “he said.
Head of Tamil Nadu BJP L Murugan, who was appointed Minister of Junior in Information and Broadcasting Services, took over in the presence of Thakur later on.
Thakur also held a brief meeting with senior officials from the Ministry, including Secretary I & B Amit Khare, and CEO of Prasar Bharati Shashi Shekhar Vempati.
“In interaction with senior officials from various media units and Prasar Bharati, Thakur said his life will work with all media heads as a team,” said a statement from the Ministry.
Murugan also thanked PM because he gave him the opportunity to serve as the Minister of State in Service I & B and said he would do his job sincerely.
He also said he was grateful to Modi because according to “adequate representation” to Tamil Nadu in the ministerial union council.
