New Delhi: Thali Subsidized Scheme Under Atal Aahar Yojna will be launched back in South Delhi with the menu that is expanded and more sites.
South Delhi Municipal Corporation will now allow private operators to use food vans for commercial purposes in the ‘non-scheme clock.’ They will be allowed to sell sugar goods, packaged food and other food.
The operator will also be allowed to display ads in the 50sqm area at the kiosk.
Officials said that the scope of the scheme was increasing by adding more sales points and renovating the entire scheme.
The subsidized RS 10 eating scheme was first started in December 2017 and the city city company then roamed the day lunch agents to run this van, but the scheme must be stopped due to the Covid outbreak and close the school.
According to the new rules framed by the Civic body, breakfast will cost Rs 10 per plate, at lunch will be offered for RS 15 per plate.
The time setting for breakfast will be 8-11 in which five pooris or two panghas with Sabzi and pickles will be provided.
Lunch time will be from 12 noon to 3pm in which four rotis or two paranthas, rice, dal, sabzi and Raita will be served for RS 15.
Thali lunch weight will be around 450 grams.
A senior official said that most of the population of Delhi was in a low-income group and due to financial constraints, these people were forced to eat unhygienic foods.
This new model will help in making hygienic foods more easily accessible while also providing employment opportunities to the operator.
“The operator does not need to take a separate trading license.
Initially, 10 kiosks will be opened in each of the four zones,” the official said.
Private operators must bid the minimum backup contract and the price has been repaired at Rs 1,000.
“We will allocate kiosks according to the monthly license fee bid.
The operator will be permitted for the 60-day incubation period,” the official said.
The size of the food kiosk has been set at 16.5 square meters and the design will be prepared with the help of students from school planning and architecture.
“We will hold a competition among students spa to complete this booth design.”
