Thane: 2 ward boys nabbed in Imitation RT-PCR racket

THANE: The Thane crime division (Unit 5) detained two ward employees working on contract in a Thane Municipal Corporation-run Covid hospital for allegedly issuing fake RT-PCR reports. The arrested men are recognized as Afsar Mangwana and Sankpal Dhanve. According to a tip-off that employees in a civic-run Covid hospital had been devoting imitation RT-PCR accounts, the cops delivered a decoy to nab the duo red-handed. “The accused ward boys billed Rs 1,250 annually for its bogus certificates issued according to Aadhar cards without even requiring the horn,” said Vikas Ghodke, older inspector. The duo delivered the unprocessed swab sticks into the testing laboratory that came out with all the damaging RT-PCR reports, additional Ghodke. Then the duo was detained while devoting the bogus certificates into the decoy organized from the crime branch officials. The certifications were seized.
