Thane: Thane crime branch has captured the four gang of robbers who came driving in the car, disguised as a political worker and robbed several people including the personal assistant of the Patil State Union Minister in Jane Ashirwad held on Sunday.
The defendant was identified as AbuBaqar aka Abu Kabutar 35, Nadit Ansari 30, Atiq Ahmed 51 Ashpaq Ansari 38 all Malegaon residents, told Vikas Ghodke, Senior Inspector of the CRIME Branch Unit-5.
The police said that the defendant was a custom violator and usually overseeing political demonstrations and therefore they were wearing plans and wearing clothes such as political workers and mixed with them during demonstrations.
They drove in the car so that no one doubted them and used a low-cost inn to live a day before the rally and mixed in the crowd, said a police officer.
As soon as they get the opportunity, using their blades or cutters attacking their busy targets in demonstrations shouting slogans etc.
After they put their hands on cash and their cellphones dodged, the officer got information.
The police said that the Foursome went far from Malegaon in the car and even robbed Rs 1 Lakh from the Personal Assistant Minister of the State of North Union Patil at Jan Asirwad’s rally held in Thane on Sunday.
Apart from this, even a cameraman was robbed from cash and several people lost their phone, told police officers.

The police recovered total cash 1.19 lakh and ten cellphones and also captured the car used in crime.
The police also found cutters from their ownership used in crime.
