Kalyan: A tragedy is avoided after the motorman who is alert to stop the local train in time to pay attention to the stones stored on the railway between Dombivli and Thakurli stations on Thursday night.
He told GRP which then cleaned the trail of 18 small and one large stone.
Taking serious awareness of the incident, Dombivli GRP initially ordered unknown events under section 336 (endangering human life or other people’s personal safety) and section 153 (endangering the safety of people traveling by train or negligence).
But then, the police managed to arrest a 15-year-old boy who claimed to have guarded the stones on track with his friends just for fun.
GRP officials said even though the stones were not too large, it could cause an accident.
GRP officials said when the local train slowly left the Dombivli station to Thakurli, Motorman noticed the rocks on the path between pole number 48/70 and stopped the train.
Police Inspector GRP Dombivli Mukesh Dhage said, “We looked out for the second accused.”
