Ulhasnagar: The case of attack by a police officer in several young men, who greeted each other on the New Year’s Day in Ulhasnagar, has revealed.
The young men accused that police officers were drunk and after seeing them, he first tried to hit them on a motorcycle but they managed to escape.
Then the officer began beating them one by one on the road and also harassed them, they said.
After the video of the attack became a viral on social media, Thane police ordered an investigation into the Assistant Police Inspector Subhash Pansare who took the law in his own hands.
The incident was revealed on Saturday at 1 in the morning in the Kaushal Nagar area in Ulhasnagar.
According to the police, Pansare patrolled the intention to take action against those who would violate the order of the state government did not celebrate the new year in public places and gather in groups.
After the video became viral on social media, netizens demanded strict action against the police said they were responsible for safeguarding law and order must be punished for taking law.
Seeing controversy, Prashant Mohite, Deputy Police Commissioner, Police Zone 4 Thane ordered an investigation into Pansare.
Mohite said, “The request has been ordered against Pansare and in accordance with finding action will be carried out against it”.
