Kalyan: The Thane Police Ulhasnagar crime unit on Thursday arrested a woman for stealing valuables after posing as a home waiter in several places.
The defendant who was arrested was identified as Narmada Khan aka Asha.
He has committed a similar violation of 12 in Mumbai and other places with his colleague – Mahesh Shinde – who was running.
On October 23, Khan targets Ulhasnagar-based entrepreneurs, Ram Tanwani, residents of Punjabi East Bagh.
He went to his house and worked as a waiter for four days.
On the fifth day, he got access to the house with the help of the lock stolen, and stole gold ornaments worth Rs 17 lakh with the help of Shinde.
The woman was identified with the help of CCTV footage installed at home.
Anil Mangale, Senior Police Inspector Ulhasnagar (Crime Unit) said, “After identifying the defendant, we sent our team to various locations in Bulandshahar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Nashik and finally our team caught him from the Mulund area.” “We have restored gold worth Rs 5 lakh so far and hunting for NAB Shinde”.
The police said Narmada was married to Shohaib and after his husband’s death he was in a direct relationship with Shinde.
He used a guarantee before capturing him in this case.
