Thane: A small fire erupted in the skywalk, which was closed to the public in the middle of the Covid-19 kuncian, at the Mira train station in the Thane Maharashtra district on Friday night.
There were no casualties reported in the incident, said an official from the West train.
Blaze broke out during the peak hours around 6:30 a.m.
in the sky in the Jurisdiction of Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) at the southern tip of the train station, the official said.
Even though the incident caused panic among busy hours of travelers, there were no reports of injury to each commuter, he said short circuit in the intersection box installed for cellular network towers could cause fire, he said.
The MBMC fire brigade immediately rushed to the place and poured fire in a few minutes, the official said, adding that train services remained unaffected because of the incident, and there was no damage to the railroad property.
