Thane: The gang that entered the gasoline pump ghodbunder and was oppressed with cash 27 lakh in the last week of January, apparently addicted to lifestyles and flamboyant people’s dance groups arrested, police said on Thursday.
The police said the plot hatched after the main defendant and his two maids contacted an employee of the pump and his former colleagues who helped them in crime.
All defendants came from the same area in Western Maharashtra.
The employee warned them about cash stored in the pump during the weekend after the gang targeted a place in Wee at January 30 to get access to the duplicate key provided by him, the police said Kapurbawdi.
“CCTV recording accessed from that place revealed four team members who entered the pump and decking with the safe they broke and escaped with RS 27 Lakh stored in it.
We managed to catch the first defendant after the pump manager identified him based.

The police said they managed to recover Rs 15 Lakh from the defendant and said the gang seemed to spend the remaining amount of groceries in the original dance group.
The police added, “The defendant is a historical sheet and is often used for frequent and protecting local people’s dance groups in their home village.
We strive to get more information from the defendant to find out their involvement in past crimes,” a police officer said.
