Thane: Housewives are held to shoplify electronic goods

Thane: City Police arrested a 42-year-old housewife allegedly because of shoplifting electronic goods from showrooms in the city, police said last week.
The defendant was a resident of the upper class housing complex that targeted electronic goods stores and it was also during rush hour to complete his task, said Dr.
Vinay Rathod, deputy commissioner of the Police Zone V (Wagle Estate).
“It was on November 3, in one case he had stolen a laptop worth Rs 1 Lakh from an electronic showroom on Jalan Ghodbunder City where a violation was registered at the Kapurbawdi police station on November 15, 2021 below the part 380 IPC,” Rathod said.

The woman walked into a showroom as a customer and distracted sales personnel and stole electronic items.
“The probe team was scanned through thousands of customer cellphone numbers to showrooms and they narrowed up to about 600 of the data they got from cellular service providers.
The police also examined CCTV cameras from 11 locations and saw the woman and focused on him and arrested him on November 16 , “added the police.
The police recovered several stolen goods from the captured women who also included laptop curop, cellphones, pen drives, hard disks, cameras, bluetooth devices, clothing, router, headphones, watches, portable printers, dust players, all total RS.
2.65 lakh.
The woman lived in the elite area at Mulund and she went down to Thane to steal items from electronic goods stores, where people rarely doubt it.
