Thane: Local resident activists have raised concerns about increasing human injuries because fallen trees in the city.
In the latest developments, four people were injured in two separate incidents of fallen trees in Thane on Wednesday.
In the first incident, a driver automatically suffered an injury after a tree fell on his vehicle at Parsik Nagar in Kalwow on Wednesday afternoon.
Santosh Kadam, the head of the regional disaster management cell told the incident occurred around 14:00 when Abdul Mudalif Shaikh (42), a resident of Bhiwandi, drove the auto near the Parsik Nagar circle.
A side by side suddenly collapsed into his muscle causing an injury to his head.
He shifted to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital, Kalwa, for treatment.
The second incident was reported Wednesday night at Vartak Nagar after a coconut tree hit a chawl pedestrian which injured three residents.
Vinod Jaiswal (42) suffered a big head injury, Pooja Jaiswal (22) and a small neighbor received a minor injury to his head.
“The three have shifted to the local health center for first aid,” said Kadam.
