Thane: Police Naupada enrolled a case of extortion against one local journalist suspected of demanding a ransom of the assistant Commissioner of the City Thane Municipal Corporation.
The defendant, Binu Varghese previously ordered together in a well-known extortion case where the former Police Commissioner Thane and Mumbai Param Singh and Gangster Ravi Pujari were accused of with 25 others.
Another accusation was named in this case if Yogesh Mundada.
This is the third extortion case registered with the defendant Varglese, who also claims to be a social worker and exhibits good contact with senior police officers in the state.
According to complaints by TMC Mahesh Aher officers, Varghese introduced himself as a “journalist” and made request for Rs 10 lakh for the new flat payment he had purchased.
Civic officers stated his inability to make a payment but the defendant repeatedly made money requests.
The defendant threatened him from a terrible consequence including slandering him if he did not make a payment and also began to extort him, the complaint stated.
He further sent him a complaint intended to be made against Aher to the Minister of Chief and other people regarding the false certificate called in getting a job, complaints with the police stated.
To buy his silence, Varghese demanded Rs.15 Lakh, but the official stated his inability to make payments and did not pay attention to it.
It was on July 202 when the victim met him the defendant again made a request of money.
Finally, the victim who had saved money for his wife’s medical care made RS payment.
1 lakh for him to get rid of it, the complaint was stated by the Naupada police station stating.
In connection with Mundada, the officer alleged that he posted the material to defame Aher on social media and also demanded money to solve this problem.
