Thane: A 23-year-old man has been arrested from Jamtara in Jharkhand, Prabhu Mondal, who is suspected of deceiving a judge of Rs 54,000 by imitating customer service executives from credit card companies.
On January 17, the police received complaints from cheating judges from fake customer service executives.
“The judge immediately reported to the police station Thane Nagar that when he was in the midst of several transactions using his credit card via cellphone, he developed an error and he called the customer care number from the search engine A number of more than RS 54,000 was sucked from his account, “said Sonali Dhole, Assistant Commissioner of Police.
“He has twisted the fake customer service number alleged has been uploaded on search engines for customers.” The police swung in action, and during the investigation they found the existence of the defendant in Jamtara through technical analysis, a police team rushed to Jamtara from where he was arrested.
