Thane: A 31-year-old woman has been arrested in the Thane District because it was allegedly illegally stocking and tried to sell duplicate drugs used in cancer treatment, police said on Friday.
Wing Economy Wing (EOW) from Mumbai Police Seizes injections and tablets worth Rs 67.90 lakh during an attack on a company in Navi Naka from Kalyan in neighboring countries Thane area, said an official.
The defendant was suspected of storing drugs used in cancer treatment and trying to sell it illegally, he said.
These drugs are produced by Japanese companies, and a private company has been given the right to take action against people or companies, which are involved in duplication of these drugs.
The company’s representatives have approached EOW with complaints about their illegal duplicate drugs and sales, the official said.
Thus, FIR under Section 420 (cheating) and other provisions from IPC and copyright laws have been registered, he added.
