Thane: The police registered a case against his lawyers and his brothers in Shahapur in the Thane District for allegedly kidnapped and held two tribnators for two months, asked them to pay a portion of land compensation to them, an official said on Saturday.
The case was registered against Vitthal Desle, an advocate, and his brother Dhaji from Khanivare Village at Murbad Tehsil, by police Thane (rural).
The defendant was in the run, he said.
The tribes, who were the siblings of Poklyachi Wadi in Shahapur, filed a complaint against the duo.
They accused that the land was obtained by the government for the dam.
The advocate and brother approached the siblings, who promised appropriate compensation.
On July 21, they brought villagers to their homes to discuss this issue but detained them for September 23, police said.
