Thane: Dawood member Ibrahim Gang desired in some cases has been captured by Thane police anti-extortion cells (AEC), an official said on Thursday.
Sayyed Abbas Tublani (32) has changed his name to Jasim Rebal Tubenan and travel abroad with a fake passport, he said.
Acting on the tip-off that he had to visit the area of Thakurada in Dahisar, Thane AEC official put a trap and arrested him two days ago, said Senior Inspector Sanjay Shinde.
Knives, fake pan cards, and SIM confiscated from ownership, said AEC officials.
The case to have a fake passport was registered against it at the Shil-Daighar police station.
Tubenan has faced cases of criminal murder and intimidation in Mumbai and cases under narcotics drugs and psychotropic substances acting in Hyderabad, said Shinde Inspector.
