Thane: A 30-year-old man who was caught for allegedly persecuting a woman, persecuted a sub-inspector at the police station in Thane City.
The defendant allegedly passed and winked at a 19-year-old woman in the Kopri area in Wee Wednesday.
When the woman’s father rebuked him, the defendant beat him, an official said at the Kopri Police Station.
The neighbor of the woman arrested the defendant and warned the police.
The defendant then tried to escape, but the police team arrested him, the official said.
After he was taken to the police station, the man misused security personnel there and his woman and father.
When a sub-inspector tried to control it, the defendant allegedly pushed him to the side, the official said, added that the police suffered a fracture in his hand and taken to hospital for treatment.
The defendant was then arrested and ordered under the relevant Indian criminal section for the persecution and blocking public servants from the use of his task.
