Thane: The 44-year-old Nigeria National has been captured by the Mumbra police because it has 250 grams of Mephedrone powder worth Rs 25 Lakh.
The police said that the defendant was identified as Sunde Izico Ozagu.
Based on the tip-off that some people will come near Dim Dumping Ground for drug transactions, a special squad led by the Harshad Sub-Inspector Kale put a trap.
Sleuth was present at the place to see Nigeria coming, the team was waiting to intercept, Kale said.
The police found nearly 250 grams of mephedrone powder from ownership.
The police took him to the police station and registered a case against him under the NDPS law.
He was produced in court and was sent to police detention for further investigation.
The police said that they tried to find a source of contraband goods and to whom he would supply.
“He is a bean that is difficult to crack and does not disclose any information, but we have been looking for technical details from their telephone record after another link will be investigated,” the officer said.
