Thane: Octimogenarian Delup from Rs 29 Lakh by e-Faudsters

Thane: City-based Octimogenarian deceived by Rs 29.8 lakh by the online cheat, with the pretext of completing the verification of Know Your Customer (KYC), sucking money from the bank account.
The police said the victim was retired personnel from the chemical factory and had several repair deposits at the National Bank branch located in Vasant Vihar area.
On September 10, he received a message on his cellphone which stated that his account was frozen because of the non-compliance of KYC and to mendreeze, the victim must obey KYC norms.
The message also mentions the cellphone number.
When senior citizens asked for numbers to verify, the fraudsters took him to confidence and got all the details of his banking.
They then pulled 29.8 from his account.
