Mumbai: The Mumbai train police have arrested an accused of being suspected of raping a 16-year-old girl near Ulhasnagar train station on Friday night, said Quaiser Khalid, Commissioner of the Mumbai Train Police on Sunday.
Overcoming a press conference in Mumbai, he said that little victims traveled through the local train from the Kalyan train station to the Ulhasnagar Railway train station around 9pm with two friends, the teenagers.
“The victim came down at the Ulhasnagar Railway train station and took a walk on the foot bridge.
His friends were threatened with the hammer by the defendant and the victim was kidnapped.
He was then taken to the nearby train staff who were now quiet to where he was raped,” he said.
The victim was held until Saturday morning and he then called a friend and narrated a series of incidents, Khalid said.
The police have registered cases that are registered against the accusation of Shrikant Gaikwad aka chest under the relevant parts of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) and the protection of children of the action of sexual violations (Pocso).
He also said, “The Forensic Team has collected evidence and further investigation into progress.
There are a number of cases registered against the defendant in Thane.
The investigation team has been formed to be led by a police officer at the police inspector.” According to the police commissioner, the victim woman had gone to two local police stations from Thane to register this case, but the local police did not register the case by saying that the place where the incident occurred was not under their jurisdiction.
However, according to the law, the case can be registered at any police station and then transferred to the Regional Police Station.
All material will be investigated why the case was not registered, the police commissioner said.
