Thane / Palghar: At least six rooms from Chawl collapsed, while eight two-wheels were damaged in the collapse of the wall because the rainfall was unrelenting in the Thane and Palghar Maharashtra district, civilian official said on Wednesday.
Some of these, 17 trees’ collapse incidents were reported in Thane City as a result of heavy rain on the night intervention Tuesday and Wednesday, said Santosh Kadam, head of regional disaster management cells.
At least eight two-wheeled vehicles parked were damaged when the walls of the company’s headquarters Thane Municipal Corporation collapsed on them, he said, adding that there were no victims reported in the incident.
In a similar incident, at least six rooms from Chawl collapsed due to heavy rain in Dhaniv Baid from Nalla Sopara in Palghar district, and there were no casualties reported, officials said.
According to local residents, several regions in the district are flooded and water enters the house.
