Thane: Godown, where various types of paper are stored, turning to ash after a large fire broke out at the facility in the city of Bhiwandi from the early Maharashtra District on Saturday, although no one was injured in the incident, a civilian official said.
The fire broke out in Godown located in the area of Kalther at around 3.30 in the morning, said Santosh Kadam, head of the regional disaster management cell from Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).
Two fire extinguisher machines – one of each of Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation and from the body of Kalyan Dombivli Civic – rushed to the place.
The fire was controlled in a few hours, he said.
“Various types of paper are stored in Godown when the incident occurred,” said Kadam, added that the cause behind the fire was being examined.
