Kalyan: Police Tok-Tok in Thane Rural arrested a 65-year-old dukun suspected of killing five patients with wrong treatment.
Accused of being arrested, pandurang gholap, was not a doctor but a former peon at the primary health center, from where he retired in 2010.
Gholap will suspect to treat the population of Dhasai Village, most of the tribe, at his home without a medical degree.
Crime was revealed on January 25, when the complainant Dr.
Umesh Waghmode, medical officers posted in the Primary Dhasai Health Center, found a Asha woman up (30), who approached the health center with a great swelling in a place given by Gholap an injection.
He died a few moments later.
The next day, other patients arrived with similar swelling, said he developed complications after treatment at Dr.
Gholap.
The joint team of health officers and police tokwade on Thursday night raided Gholap’s house and found empty boxes, but there was no injection.
The police have learned so far, five people, including duo father-children may have died because of the wrong treatment given by GHOLAP.
Santosh Darade, Assistant Inspector with Tokawade Police, said they took the help of the Ministry of Health and the FDA to investigate this case.
