Thane: Often opposition and interference from locals and selected representatives seem to have raised the completion of highly important Kalwa-Airoli rail projects, the authorities revealed.
The disclosure was carried out through a written reply given to local activists Siddhesh Desai by Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) Ltd which carried out a high-kalwa-airoli rail link and put an additional 5-6 track in the Thane Diva segment here.
The agency has blamed the resistance of the locals and non-cooperation from Nentas for rehabilitation issues for the delay in execution of the project.
MRVC claims that they have begun working on the land available for them from various institutions but an important part to the Kalwow team has been detained.
Officials say that resettlement and rehabilitation are one of the main problems that interfere with the project because of the lack of cooperation from Netas local and residents who have plugged into all efforts to conduct a mandatory survey here.
“We need verified details from those who live in areas that will be influenced by the project so that we can pursue problems with MMRDA that have agreed to help certainly be in vain because of the barrier from local residents for the survey.
Except for residents are rehabilitated, none Progress and work will be postponed, “Mrvc said in the answer.
Desai, commuter train from Kalwa said he was surprised to know how the project was delayed because of this problem.
“It seems that those who oppose the project do not seem to support Lakh passengers who are forced to travel in an inhuman condition in the stretch of suburbs.
It’s time for some actions taken at the front of this to reduce the volume of accidents here.
Holding vital projects for ransoms is not true, “He said.
The Cabinet Minister and Mla Jitendra Awhad who represented the area was clarified there was no opposition to the project but for the MRVC rehabilitation policy.
“The authorities plan to move residents to Mankhurd or Govandi.
The majority of the population here is hired locally and if they are moved far away, which will ensure their livelihoods.
There is a lot of empty land around it, where relocation can be planned,” he said.
This can be remembered by an enhanced and executed train link as part of MUBP III.
This project is planned to facilitate the load station from Thane as the majority of the traffic bound by Mumbai Kalyan-Navi will be transferred from Kalwa.
Links that are elevated will take off from the Kalwa and cross the main route of the fast track and go down in Digha and then join the Transharbour line.
