Thane: Thane Mayor Naresh Mhaske has ordered an investigation into the road widening project executed a few years ago after the general body on Monday was told that the Thane government had bypass the protocol set and executed work.
Surprising Revelation was made on Monday General Body after the query caused by the BJP Corporator Archana Manera over the sloping width of Pokhran 1 Road.
The house was surprised to know that while the road width according to the development plan was 40 m, eight additional meters wide on the one hand for a few hundred meters.
While widening 40m alright in the general body, Manera questioned why the administration did not ask permission while expanding the scope of work and also trying to find out whether the administration led by the city commissioner was allowed to pass the house.
Netas also searched for clarification of unnecessary expenses from the construction costs of the section that widened in the next taxpayers and maintenance later.
“The administration has been recklessly destroyed small shops at a favorable cost of a large business house that seems to benefit from this widening together with their compounds.
We were surprised to know about this discrepancy,” he thought.
The red-faced administration admitted the widening was carried out on and on the 80m mandate after Mayor Naresh Mhaske ordered an investigation to be formed in this matter and the report was submitted in ten days.
