Kalyan: Three people were arrested and 20kg marijuana worth Rs 3 lakh confiscated from them in Thane’s Dombivli.
The defendant has been identified as Anand, Rehmal and Sandeep.
They used to buy marijuana directly from farmers in the forest area in the Dhule district and sell it to Dombivli Man.
Then the man was used to sell marijuana to famous people in Dombivli and its surroundings.
The defendant who was arrested was identified as Anand Devkar, 32, Pavra Rehmal, 29 and Sandip Pavra, 27.
Police said Anand was a resident of Dombivli while Rehmal and Sandeep was a resident of Talpur Taluka in the Dhule District in Maharashtra.
“Recently, we have received specific information about several people in Dombivli who sell marijuana to students and famous people,” said Shekhar Bagade, Senior Police Official Inspector Manpada.
Bagade said, “After getting information, we decided to solve the whole gang and then we put the trap and confiscated 20kg and 300gm marijuana from the defendant”.
