Thane: a 26-year-old commuter installed a strong fight, on Saturday night, to catch thieves who tried to escape after grabbing his cellphone and Mangalsutra at the Shahad train station.
The woman chased the defendant and did not let him run away even after they both fell.
Seeing the fear of the woman, another passenger also joined and helped hand over charges to Kalyan GRP personnel who reached the place in some time.
Victims of Priyanka Rajput (26), a resident of Bhiwandi, was in Ulhasnagar to work.
Kalyan GRP personnel say that Rajput has reached Shahad Station to take the train for Kalyan.
Officially said that while waiting at the number 2 platform, accused of Shahrukh Shaikh (24) grabbed his cellphone and Mangalsutra, pushed it and tried to escape.
But Rajput captured Shaikh and both fell to the drainage line at the station.
Rajput struggled and arrested Shaikh even after falling, after another passenger came to his aide and handed it to Kalyan GRP.
