Udupi: A 78-year-old Christian businessman, who spent his working year in Mumbai and associated his success to Siddhivinayak, has built a temple for gods in his native City Shirva, 14km from Udupi.
Gabriel F Nazereth said he built a temple on his ancestral land in his parents’ memory.

“Gabriel was happy with his desire to be fulfilled,” said a friend and journalist Pundalika Marathe, added, “Gabriel went to Mumbai to find a job after completing grade 10.
After doing a strange job for several years, he set up a factory block and mold manufacturing.
He lives in Mumbai for almost 55 years and became a worshiper of Ganesha.
He remained a Christian but also believed in God Siddhivinayak, who was most respected in Mumbai.
Upon his return to his hometown about a decade ago, he decided to build a temple.
“Gabriel built a temple on Nearly 20 cents, next to his house, with an estimated cost of Rs 2 Crore.
Ganesha 36 inch idol has been installed.
The house for Imam Temple has also been built together.
