Pune: All 12 doses of covid crore vaccines for July have been fairly distributed among countries (depending on population size) and demands for more must wait until the supply increases, the Ministry of Health official said.
“Uttar Pradesh was followed by Maharashtra, Bihar and West Bengal in vaccine allocation,” said an official from the Ministry.
On Friday, Deputy Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar said that unless the supply of the increased center, the state would not be able to streamline its vaccination program.
Maharashtra has been allocated 1.15 doses of crore for July.
Has requested 1.5 dose of crore.
The Ministry of Health officials, when asked about the demand of the state, said that the additional for allocated supplies will cause supply gap and demand in other countries.
The official said, “Gap in (vaccine) demand and supply is a global problem.
Vaccine producers have now increased their production with four times, but requests have risen too.
That is why we start with priority groups (health workers and front lines), Followed by vulnerable groups and then moved to a group of 45-plus and 18-plus.
“The official said the center did not doubt the ability of Maharashtra to improve the drive drive, but could not send more doses due to limited inventory.
“Vaccines are biological products and have to undergo required checks before distribution.
Even if the state demands direct inventory, this process must be done, which will delay the supply.
The quality of consistent supply must be ascertained and it takes time,” said the official who did not want to be named.
He said that the “desire” vaccine has increased after the second wave of pandemic, adding that production has been improved.
“Vaccine production has increased from 2.5 crores to 12 crores.
Work actively, in all fields.
We also add vaccines from more manufacturers.
But all of this will take time.
Next month, we will see further supply increases,” said the official.
Officials also confirmed that the central government is committed to allocating 50 crore doses until July and 135 doses of crore vaccines between August and December this year.
The authorities also expect daily vaccination in this country to increase from 50 lakh to Crore.
