Tirupur: Rural police on Monday arrested four gang members who kidnapped a 22-year-old businessman based in Kangeyam for RS 3 Crore Ransom.
The victim was identified as Siva Pradeep, son of Eswaramoorthy from Kecilkuur.
Eswaramooorthy and his brother Rakkiyappasamy have a wedding room and rice factory in Kangeyam.
They built a food garden at Veeracholapuram Pirivu.
Siva, a BBA graduate who takes care of a family business, often visits construction sites.
“On Sunday around 1pm, the young man returned home from the site with his driver Saddam Hussain when the gang of seven members in the car stopped them.
Four of them introduced himself as police personnel from the district of Ramanathapuram and asked Siva and Sidam to accompany them.
The gang took the duo to Sirumalai in the Dindigul district and contacted Eswaramoorthy on his phone.
The criminals demanded Rs 3 Crore to free his son.
They threatened to kill Siva if Eswaramoorthy told the police, “said a police officer.
Following gang instructions, Eswaramoorthy and Rakkiyappasamy handed over Rs 3 Crore to a gang member on Jalan Andranchatram – Dindigul on Sunday night, and the gang released Siva and Saddam.
After reaching Kangeyam, Siva approached the police, which formed eight special teams to arrest the kidnappers.
