Nagpur: Transport Minister Union Nitin Gadkari on Saturday dedicated to the general 50-meter long bridge over the Pili River that connects Vandevi Nagar and Vinoba Bhave Nagar in the constituency of nagpur nagpur assembly.
The bridge was built at a cost of Rs 24.96 Crore.
Along with the bridge, a 1,200 meter connecting road has also been built.
The Mayor of Dayashankar Tiwari, Minister of Guardian Nitin Raut, Rajya Sabhha MP Dr.
Vikas Mahatme, Deputy Mayor of Manha Dhawade, BJP City and MLC Pravin Datke President, Canporator Virendra Kumre and Gopichand Kumre were present.
Kumre told Ti that Vandevi Nagar would be cut off from the whole city because of the overflowing of the Pili river on the bridge.
“During 2013 Monsun, 18 people have been washed away on the bridge that sank,” Kukreja said.
They have been saved.
“In the Monsun, residents of Vandevi Nagar are accustomed to fighting because of the sinking bridge,” Kumre said.
Residents said they had met with Congress leaders but were in vain.
In 2014, North Nagpur residents approached the former MLA Dr.
Milind Mane demanded a bridge on the Pili River.
Dr.
Mane submitted a proposal with former Minister Devendra Fadnivis and Nitin Gadkari Union Minister.
Gadkari in 2018 gives bridge sanctions from central funds.
The country’s PWD does work.
Construction was completed about six months ago.
Vandevi residents have started using the bridge.
On Saturday, Gadkari officially dedicated bridges to the public.
