New Delhi: Ensuring all support for the export community, trade and the Minister of Industry Piyush Goyal on Monday said the $ 650 billion export target for goods and services in the current financial year can be achieved.
He told that during January until January 15, exports had touched $ 16 billion.
He said this when leading a meeting review of all the main export promotion board (EPC) here.
“The export target of $ 650 billion in the current financial year can be achieved.
The target of $ 400 billion from exports of merchandise is in vision and the service sector must fight for export of $ 250 billion,” said Goyal.
He convinced EPC that his service would do “anything” needed in their hands and resolve their problems to achieve higher export targets in the next fiscal (2022-23).
The Minister also convinced industrial representatives to pursue their demands during various negotiations of free trade agreements (FTA).
“The government is willing to listen to new ideas, engage with industry at each level and work as an enabler, facilitator and partner,” he added.
India’s overall export (merchandise and service) over the April-December 2021 is estimated at $ 479.07 billion, showing positive growth of 36.31 percent during the same period last year.
