New Delhi: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered the eighth day of independence from the Red Fort fortress.
It lasted for almost 88 minutes.
The last time PM Modi spoke for the same duration in 2015.
PM Modi delivered his first independence day speech in 2014, which lasted for 65 minutes.
His shortest speech was in 2017 when he spoke a little in one hour.
The longest speech was in 2016 when he spoke for 94 minutes.
During a 1 hour speech and 28 minutes, the Prime Minister Modi praised Indians because they fought against the Covid-19 pandemic with a lot of patience.
He further said the country is proud to have the largest vaccination program in the world, with more than 54 crore people have taken Covid-19 vaccines.
He also made an announcement for 75 Train Vande Bharat to connect various parts of the country in the 75 weeks ‘Amrit Mahotsav’.
Until 2015, the longest speech was given by Indian PM in 1947, when Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru spoke for 72 minutes.
