Lucknow: The Jamajwadi Party Patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and the National President Akhilesh Yadav may have ‘missed’, visiting the family of former Minister of Kalyan Singh to offer their condolences in BJP veteran death, but the construction triggered politics around his ‘absence’.
Attacking SP leadership about this problem, the BJP MP from Kannauj, Subrat Pathak, said their absence reflects their ‘Talibani’ mentality.
According to political observers, the absence of Mulayam and Akhilesh became more ‘striking’ because President of Besangjan Samaj (BSP) President Mayawati visited the Kalyan Singh family and paid interest tribute to veteran leaders.
The Samajwadi party, however, rejected this problem as a controversy that did not need to accuse BJP to make ‘events’ of the same serious with the death of a senior and respected leader.
The person in SP said Akhilesh was in Saifai on Saturday night when Kalyan Singh was pronounced dead by a doctor at SGPGI in Lucknow where he was undergoing treatment for some time.
“The SP head revealed sincere condolences on Twitter a few minutes after the news entered.
He then spoke with the son of Kalyan Singh, Rajveer, by telephone too.
He will immediately visit him personally,” said a senior SP leader who was knowledgeable.
“When SP’s head returned to Lucknow on Sunday after attending his scheduled involvement in Saifai, the remnants of mortal Kalyan Singh had been flown to their home town in Aligarh,” he added.
“Mulayam hand in hand with Kalyan Singh when the last one has come out of BJP and then separated.
It is very unlikely that political differences are reasons that encourage muliary and akhilesh to distance themselves,” said a political observer.
According to sources in SP, the carrier of the party’s unit office has been directed to attend Kalyan Singh’s last ritual in Aligarh.
