Nashik: Two solid divisions from CidCo and Panchavati in the city of Nashik have registered a 24% decline in Covid-19 active cases in the past month.
Two divisions together contributed 48% of the total active cases in the city.
At present, there are a total of 494 active cases in the city, which, 236 comes from these two divisions.
The number of active cases in CidCo has dropped from 162 cases about a month back to 123 active cases at this time, while the number of active cases in Panchavati have dropped from 150 to 113 cases.
The medical supervisor of the Municipal corporation Nashik Bapurukeb Nagargoje said the infectivity of Coronavirus had diminished and infection became light.
This has led to a significant decrease in new cases in the past month and consequently, active cases also decrease.
“The two divisions are densely populated compared to the other four divisions.
Therefore, the maximum Covid-19 case was found in these two divisions during the first and second wave-19,” said Nagargoje.
“Even though the number of Covid-19 cases has dropped significantly last month, there is still a projection of the third wave of pandemic in the next few months.
Therefore, people need to follow the appropriate Covid behavior,” Nagargoje said.
The city only has 500 active cases in the first week of February this year.
But the number of new cases began to increase from the second week of February and rise further in March and April.
The number of active patients has reached 28,000 cases on April 23.
Even then, around 48% of the total active cases came from the CidCo and Panchavati division.
The downward trend in the new case starts in May.
Now, the number of new cases has dropped significantly on all six NMC divisions.
This has caused relaxation in restrictions on public movements.
Health officials said that the appropriate behavior of Covid must be followed by all.
