Lucknow: Calculation of active cases in Uttar Pradesh has decreased by 44% since its peak recorded on January 19, shows the data of the Ministry of Health.
On Saturday, the number of active cases above was 59,601, while the peak was 1,06,616 on January 19.
Data also shows that the covid-19 peak during the third wave is underway than what is recorded in the second wave.
Against 38,055 cases in the second wave, the third wave peak saw 18,554 new cases.
Experts associate checks on omicron cases in the state to restrictions covid.
They also urge people in the state to obey the norms until the waves subside.
Meanwhile, 8,338 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
Tally officially shows that while the number has been stable in all districts, cases in Lucknow still floated around 1,500 per day.
Country capital contributes the maximum number of active cases with 11,570 entries – almost one-fifth of the overall load of the country.
15% of other active cases come from seven districts: Gautam Budh Nagar, Jhansi, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Prayagraj, Varanasi and Meerut.
Experts, however, expressed concern for loss of life because of complications caused by covid infection between vulnerable.
Losing 25 lives is recorded in the last 24 hours with a total of 23,164.
Speaking of vaccination, officials said the total number of doses managed in the country amounted to 25.84 crore.
In terms of people, 15.57 crores, including 90 teenagers lakh, have taken the first dose while 10.14 crore is fully vaccinated.
A total of 12.51 lakh people in the state also took a dose of preventive measures.
