The age of conundrum hits the architecture of prospective courses in k’taka

Bengaluru: The absence of a sign of PU has proven expensive for several candidates who aspire to pursue courses in architecture because they know after the results of the national talent test in architecture (Nata) are announced.
Rule of the Carnataka Examination Authority (Kea) states that if two students or get the same sign in Nata, Tiebreak will apply to the Allot rank.
Last year, ranking was determined based on the sign obtained in mathematical examination in the qualification examination – I.
II PU or Class 12 exam.
If it is also the same, age becomes the criteria and old candidates get a higher ranking.
However, this year with the PU and Class 12 exams were canceled, only the age used as a tiabreaker.
“In connection with architectural courses, where the reward of two or more candidates is the same, the reward of the intole will be determined by referring to the sign obtained in the talent paper first, and where the sign obtained is the same, the service will be determined on the age of the candidate age, Where older candidates will be considered before the younger (SIC), “said the cet brochure.
As a result, some candidates lost for their colleagues just because they were younger.
“I am a younger year for most others, so I’m sure I will be somewhere at the bottom of the list of students who have scored the same value,” said a student.
“My friend just got six more signs than me, but he was 100 ranked in front of me.” He said he was disappointed because the rank might not pick him a cet chair on the campus he wanted.
Other students say: “Many of us are adverse because we miss the three Nata efforts that are much simpler than the first two.
Now, the age criteria are a big blow.
This is our future.
It must be proper-based.” Dion d’sa from DQ Labs, who train students in Nata, said: “The rules make students born at the end of the year in a less profitable position.
For example, a student who scored 100 signs and 96% on the board will get a lower rank than a student who has scored The same sign in Nata and 75% on their board, only because of their age.
Students find this unfair.
“However, a senior Kea official said the age was used as a criterion every year and students must realize it.
“Students pay attention to him this year because of the absence of a PU sign,” the official said.
“Even when age is used as a tiebreak, younger students do not lose a lot, maybe or two of the most ranks.
Even in the competitive exam done by the government, age is used as a tiebreak.” Incidentally, in the CET engineering course, signs of cet in Mathematics, physics and chemistry are considered (in this order) before the rule of age plays a role.
If the age is also the same, then the service is determined by many lotteries.
