Mumbai: The national level Indian Olympic exam has been postponed.
Close to 1 lakh from the smartest school students take the exam done by Homi Bhabha Center for science education.
The four exams – two each at 9 and January 16 – has been postponed and the decision about the other two on January 23 will be made in a few days, after taking the Covid situation stock.
Two Olympic exams on January 9, Indian Olympic qualifications in mathematics (taken by students of class X, XI and XII) and Indian Olympic qualifications in junior science (taken by ninth and tenth class students) have been postponed.
Similarly, Indian Olympic qualifications in Indian Olympic physics and qualifications in the biology exam is scheduled to be held on January 16, has also been postponed now.
The decision was taken “considering the deteriorating situation of Covid-19 pandemic throughout the country, and the consequences of closing education institutions and restrictions were announced by the central government and different state governments”.
Members of the Professor Olympic Team Aniket Sule told Tii, “around 10 states, schools have been closed and they cannot open them even to do the test.
