Kolkata: Colleges and universities in Kolkata have received “Records Number of Applications” for UG Courses in less than 100 hours of tayung reception portal on Monday.

The Presidency University opened its reception portal after the WBJee board canceled the receipt test.
“The application has crossed five points,” said an official.
Goenka College for Commerce and business administration has received more than 3,000 applications for 549 seats while Basanti Devi College receives 3,180 applications until Thursday night for 986 seats.
New Alipore College has received more than 5,000 applications for 2,100 seats.
“These three times the amount we received last year in a few days,” said Principal Jaydeep Sarangi.
In Bangabasi College, 13,500 applications were accepted until Thursday afternoon for 2,799 seats.
“The maximum number of applications is for English, Bengali, Geography, Physics and Trade,” said Parha Ghosh, a senior professor on campus.
Lady Brabourne Principal Siuli Sarkar said the number of applications in the first three days beyond their expectations.
“A large number of students can meet the feasibility criteria for submitting various subjects.
This is one reason behind the high number of applications,” Mukhopadhyay said.
