New Delhi: About 13 Lakh Armed Forces have a shortage of 9,712 officers and more than one lakh army, pilot, and sailors, according to the latest figures submitted in parliament on Monday.
The army has a deficiency of 7,912 officers and 90,640 soldiers, while numbers for the Navy are 1,190 officers and 11,927 seafarers.
IAF, in turn, has a shortage of 610 officers and 7,104 Airmen, said Defense Minister Junior Ajay Bhatt, in written answers in Rajya Sabha.
“The government has taken a number of steps to reduce deficiencies.
These include projections of sustainable images, participation in career exhibitions and exhibitions, and publicity campaigns to create awareness among young people over the benefits of taking a challenging and satisfying career,” he said.
“Furthermore, the government has taken various steps to make work in an interesting armed force, including promotional prospects, and to fill vacancies,” he added.
However, as before reported by TOI, almost all shortcomings of officers were very worrying in the “battle ranking” of three services.
In the Army, for example, this ranking is Lt-Colonel, Major, Captain and Lieutenant, who actually lead troops to battle.
Although the salary of military officers has increased substantially after the 6th and 7th center payment commissions, children still find them poor compared to the corporate sector, especially for life that is considered tough and risky.
The bad promotional avenue in the steep pyramid structure of the armed forces and frequent transfers that disrupt family life and children’s education are other reasons that prevent young people with “quality such as officers (OLQ)” from queuing.
Lack of adequate officer training capacity in the armed forces, of course, other factors.
The government also has not agreed to a delayed old package to make the short service commission (SSC) more attractive to smart young people, with steps ranging from the paid study grant, leave on gold handshakes at the end of the term of office 10 to 14 years.
Year, despite the lack of officers and urgent needs for cadre restructuring.
