Leh: the armed forces will not allow political turmoil in other countries anywhere to influence India, Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla said on Thursday in reference to the crisis in Afghanistan in real reference to China, Birla, who was on a three-day visit to Ladakh, said “The expansionist approach” of several countries produces border disputes and confirms that India always spread peace and work to strengthen democratic arrangements in other countries.
Lok Sabha speakers are on their way to a week to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as part of the ‘parliament outreach program for the empowerment of Pancayati Raj Institution’.
Birla said he visited two Union regions to strengthen the Pancayati system Raj and democratic institutions.
Asked about the recent political crisis in Afghanistan, Birla said India supported a democratic system that developed in all countries.
“India always spread peace and work to strengthen democracy throughout the world …
we have full faith in our armed forces that they will not allow political turmoil in other countries (Afghanistan) affect India,” said Birla PTI.
On recent tension at the actual (LAC) control line, said Birla, Ladakh area was a Buddhist land that preached peace and harmony and that was what was spread by India.
“Here from Leh, Buddhist land, we just want to send a peaceful message and harmony.
India always opens terrorism and cross-border expansionism.
But it is an expansionist approach from several countries that cause disputes on the border,” Birla said.
He further said India was able to maintain the border and its people.
Birla said at the moment, he hoped that all countries would gather and make action plans to end terrorism by strengthening the democratic system.
Speaking of Ladakh, Birla said that the area must be developed in accordance with the expectations of the community and its geographical location.
The area has the potential to emerge as one of the most sought-after international tourist destinations, said Birla, adding Ladakh infrastructure is being developed at a very fast speed.
Birla is scheduled to visit distant areas on Ladakh including Lake Pangaong and Nubra Valley.
He will also visit Pahalgaon and Srinagar and interact with the leaders of Panchayat from all this place.
