Ghaziabad: The elderly pair was found killed in their house in Patel Nagar on Thursday night, allegedly by two attackers who slipped in and out of compounds without raising the Diwali celebration in the middle.
The police said the couple was beaten to death with heavy objects but neighbors in the six-story building and the people exploded crackers did not hear anything because Ambient’s voice might cover the sound from the house.
GZB Murders: Police said the reason that Ashok Zaidka (75) and his wife Madhu (73) lived on the ground floor of the building in Patel Nagar in the Gerbang Sihani area.
Ashok in the pharmaceutical business before taking retirement.
According to the police, he was paralyzed for around 20 years.
The couple has two daughters and they live in Noida and Pune with their respective families.
The murder was found after their daughter Shruti called from Noida to say to them for Diwali.
Calls are not answered for about two hours.
Around midnight, Shruti finally called Satyaprakash, a local color, and asked him to check the couple, police said.
Satyaprakash (Papu) told Ti that around 11.55 at night on Thursday, Shruti called him and said he had not been able to contact his parents since 10pm.
“He asked me to share some of their neighbor’s cellphone numbers.
But I don’t have a number stored on my cellphone.
I get my handset repaired recently and lost all contacts.
So I told him I would go and check myself, ” he says.
Satyaprakash reached the house a few minutes later.
He said he first honed the bell at the main entrance of the building, but no one answered.
“Then I opened the main iron gate and entered the building.
I will knock on the door of their house, but I find it it hasn’t been locked up correctly.
I pushed it open and see the elderly woman lying on the floor.
I told Shruti.
And the police,” he said.
SSP Pawan Kumar said the attackers did not take anything from home.
