Gurgaon: Anticipating the potential of the third wave of Covid, the Ministry of Health on Tuesday directing all hospitals to form an internal audit committee to monitor the status of oxygen supply and ensure minimal waste.
Facilities have been asked to share detailed data on August 20.
The Audit Committee team is every hospital, which consists of medical supervisors, directors, nurses, doctors and an anesthetic experts, will carry out inspections from next week.
Team members will be responsible for increasing or reducing the oxygen flow to the patient, depending on the condition.
“This will ensure sustainable oxygen monitoring.
This mechanism will help in optimal utilization,” said Gurgaon’s Gurgaon Virender Yadav.
The Ministry of Health will analyze the data shared by the Audit Committee and notify the hospital if they use oxygen optimally or waste it.
It will see reasons for waste, which can be caused by instruments such as flow meters, leakage in oxygen cylinders and inappropriate use by the doctor.
According to the state government survey, there are around 30% of oxygen waste throughout Haryana.
Therefore, this time, there is an emphasis on the use of wise oxygen.
Meanwhile, oxygen plants are also installed in the city.
The Ministry of Health said 25 hospitals had updated their oxygen plant capacity and installed new PSA units while others were in the process of doing it.
Assessment and inspection of all special covid care centers and dedicated Covid hospitals are also being carried out.
At present, city oxygen demand is less than 20 metric tons.
During the second wave, the request has risen to 55 metric tons.
Acute deficiency in several hospitals even caused the death of covid patients.
6 new cases in the city meanwhile, the city witnessed six fresh Covid-19 cases on Tuesday taking Kaseload to 1,80,954, where 75 was an active case.
The level of front is 0.1%.
Seven people also recovered, carrying total recovery to 1,79,958.
The recovery rate is at 99.6%.
