Melbourne: The crowd at the Australian Open Tennis will be limited to a capacity of 50% below the updated Covid-19 restriction, the state government said Victoria on Thursday, when the authorities fought with a wave of cases in Melbourne.
Face masks will also be mandatory for all customers, except when eating or drinking, and there will be a density limit of one person per square meter in the hospitality places in the room, the government said in a statement.
“This update for arrangements for the Australian Open will mean that fans, players, and labor can look forward to a great Covid-Safe event,” said the Acting Minister Victoria for Sports Jaala Pulford in the statement.
Victoria, who hosted the Grand Slam in the capital of the state of Melbourne, reported 37,169 new cases of Covid-19 on Thursday and 25 deaths.
Calculate the case slightly down from the count Wednesday 40,127.
The accumulation to the Australian Open, which began Monday, has been overshadowed by doubts about the participation of the Male Champion Novak Djokovic.
Djokovic was detained by the Australian border authority for several days before it was released on Monday after winning the court case.
The Victorian government said all tickets purchased to the Grand Slam to date remain valid, implying sales at events that are usually crowded have not reached a 50% capacity for each session.
