Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Monday announced an increase in salaries of junior teachers and Junior Teachers (Kontraktual) by 50 percent.
As many as 33,038 teachers who work in different elementary schools throughout the country will benefit from this decision.
Climbing this for elementary school teachers will retrospectively from January 1.
According to the decision, contractual junior teachers who get a salary of Rs 7,400 per month will now get Rs 11,000 per month.
Likewise, the salary of the junior teacher has been upgraded from Rs 9,200 to Rs 13,800.
This government’s decision will help 13,324 Kontraktual Junior Teachers and 19,714 Teacher Junior State.
The country will bear the additional costs of RS 168 Crore every year to the salary of these junior teachers.

About 26,164 teaching and non-teaching employees in non-governmental secondary schools, up (I) school and madrasas that receive 100 percent of IN-AID grants will benefit from this increase.
Likewise, around 15,664 teaching and non-teaching employees from universities assisted will get increased financial benefits, official source said.
Teachers and non-teaching employees have demanded a revised salary for the past four years.
Before this, they received a assistance grant according to the recommendations of the 6th payment commission.
Enhanced Grant-in-Aid will be implemented with the effects of January 1, 2018 gradually while enhanced financial benefits will actually apply starting January 1, 2022.
In the new year, the state government has determined work of 8,102 contractual junior teachers.
The teachers have held Dharna which is not limited to the lower PMG here during the Winter Session of the State Assembly demanding regularization of their work.
