Thiruvananthapuram: The newborn baby died on Thursday at Pathanapuram in Kollam after his mother jumped into his hand in his hand.
Hanna, Princess Samsi and Shibu, are the deceased.
Samsi was saved by fire service personnel and rescue.
The police suspected that Samsi’s actions were triggered by postnatal depression.
He was taken to the government’s mental research center in Oolampara in the state capital for inspection after the incident.
The police said the incident occurred at Samsi’s residence, Samsi Bhavan, Pattazhy under the boundaries of the Pathhanapuram police station, where he took a break after Hanna’s birth, his second child.
He allegedly took the baby and jumped into the well where his house at around 11:30 a.m.
Neighbors rushed to the place and immediately took the baby from the well.
Even though he was taken to the hospital, the doctors said his death.
About 30 minutes later, Samsi was removed from Fire and Rescue service personnel.
He was taken to the Taluk District Hospital, where the doctors examined him suggested that he show the symptoms of depression and referred him to the mental research center.
His parents also told the police that he seemed to be mentally depressed after Hanna’s birth.
Samsi has older daughters, kripan, six years old.
He is a nurse by the profession who used to work in a hospital in Bangalore.
