Patna: Bihar The State Pollution Control Board (BSPCB) has decided to continue its complete ban on the sale and use of firecrackers in Patna, Style, Muzaffarpur, and Vaishali too.
The decision in this case was taken after the direction of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) to maintain the quality of the air around in all cities.
In other cities of the country, only green or environmentally friendly crackers will be permitted on Diwali.
Arun Kumar, a senior scientist and air pollution experts in BSPCB, said Patna, style, Muzaffarpur and Hajipur have been considered as “non-achievement cities” where air quality, according to records managed by the Central Polution Control Agency (CPCB), is polluted at Outside the standard of national ambient air quality prescribed.
Therefore, licenses for cracker sales will not be issued for these cities.
For Compliance with NGT orders, letters have been issued for all district judges, senior police supervisors and SPS.
They have been asked to ensure that prohibited firecrackers are not sold on the market.

In a letter issued on Wednesday, the Secretary of the BSPCB member, Chandrashekhar, said that poisonous pollutants from crackers would affect the health of the population and people must avoid crackers that explode this celebration season.
“In four cities, where the ambient air index data was found ‘poor or more’ in November 2020, sales and use of crackers were prohibited from protecting the health of vulnerable people.
Other cities are allowed to explode green firecrackers.
In the order, firecrackers can explode between 8pm and 10 nights at Diwali and Guruparv.
During Chhat, firecrackers can break from 6am to 8am.
On Christmas and New Year, people can break crackers starting at 11.55pm to 12:30 command word.
Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh said the SDO, HR and the local police station had been asked to ensure ordinary compliance.
“District administration will also hold meetings with firecrackers and ask them not to store crackers in view of orders.
In addition, we will not update their license.
We will take the necessary actions to enforce the prohibition in accordance with the provisions,” he said.
